Interactive Worksheets for Calculus I

For contact and copyright information, see the end.

================================

I have included in this archive most of the lessons and Sage worksheets developed as part of a 2008 Summer Grant for the Improvement of Instruction at the University of Southern Mississippi.

This public release version has been successfully converted form its original, custom LaTeX class to the Beamer class. The files were imported into Lyx, tested, and corrected. After a *very* *small* amount of tinkering to make all the text fit in a page, each file was then re-exported to LaTeX. The ".tex.old" file indicates the original state of the file. This was actually distilled from somewhere else, which I can no longer find, nor wish to. (I was in fact delighted to find these tex files.)

Be advised that there are a number of typographical errors and questionable turns of phrase. I was in something of a hurry to finish this project, so the writing is often spectacularly sloppy.

Please do not use this "as is". A number of changes need to be made to turn this into a production-ready document. None of these changes is especially difficult; it's just that the number of changes needed is *large*. You will notice problems with formatting right away.

Feel free to add to, remove from, or modify this collection. I ask only that you inform me of any changes you make.

My day job does not always involve teaching Calculus I, and for most of the last few semesters I am assigned Trigonometry. I do not know when I will be motivated to make the changes listed below. If you have a way to motivate me, then by all means go ahead.

I would like to express my gratitude to William Stein, Rob Beezer, Karl-Dieter Crisman, and other members of the Sage Group who strongly encouraged me, especially at Sage Edu Days 3, to upload this material in a form that could be share with others.
